SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. ~ Matthew 18:20
Small Christian Communities, or faith sharing groups, are vital to life in Christ. In our smaller communities, we are able to grow together and support one another along our faith journeys. While always rooted in Christ and the mission of His Church, the focus of any given group will vary based on the spirit of the particular group.
If you are interested in joining, creating or learning how to facilitate a faith sharing group, please email Michelle Sullivan or call the parish office at 410.838.6969. The following is a list of some of our established groups.
At Home With The Word
Enhance your experience at Mass by preparing your heart to receive Jesus in Word and Sacrament. Many of our groups read and reflect on the Scripture readings that will be heard at our weekend masses using reflections and discussion questions to help spark the conversation. This is a powerful way to connect with God and fellow believers. Email Michelle Sullivan or call the parish office at 410.838.6969, if you are interested in forming or joining a group that will help you to grow in your faith.
Monday Morning Moms’ Group
Are you looking for faith-filled friendship with other moms? Our Mothers’ group meets on Monday mornings from late-September through May to reflect on and share various topics of faith and family life. Contact Shannon Dauses for more information.
Friends of St. Peregrine
Are you facing a daunting life challenge or caring for someone who is? Join our Friends of St. Peregrine faith sharing group who, through prayer and conversation, seek the hopeful faith of Christ in the midst of life’s serious challenges and struggles. For more information, contact Mike Von Lange or Lisa McGann.
Catholic Men’s Fellowship
It is through small group gatherings that men help and encourage each other to work to increase their spirituality, faith and knowledge of Church teachings through evangelization and discipleship. Meetings are held on Sunday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Adult Education Center. For more information, contact Jack Dempsey 410.803.2111
Centering Prayer Group
Centering prayer is a prayer of quiet that helps us to open ourselves to God’s presence and receive the gift of God’s abiding love and its fruits: greater inner stability, hope, peace and happiness. The group meets twice a month to share, learn, support one another and pray together. For more information contact Gene Popiolek 443.567.6214
Holy Moments seeks to find joy and deepen faith through sharing our stories. Members actively look for the “holy, random moments” in daily life when we are aware of God’s love and light working in this world. Most of our gatherings are “virtual” (i.e. emails and a newly forming blog), but when the Holy Spirit moves us, the group plans fun "pop-up" holy moments - short, quick, give-back moments – where we share God’s love with an unsuspecting person. Contact Carol Maglov or Lisa McGann for more information.
